How it all began

Experiencing sales inefficiencies firsthand

SunPro+ was initially conceptualized and developed by Freyr Energy to address fundamental challenges that it faced in scaling its solar-rooftop business, specifically:

  • Difficulty in accessing and acquiring customers because local presence is needed.
  • Long time (extending to weeks) and high overheads to finalize a solution that meets all customer requirements.

These inefficiencies exist because:

  • Sales managers and independent sales agents selling solar power systems typically do not have a technical solar background. Hence, a separate technical team is required to provide support in designing, pricing, and preparing a proposal for the solar system to be installed.
  • Additional iterations, often requested by the customer, prolong the process by several weeks.

Developing a solution for internal teams and independent sales agents

To meet these challenges, Freyr Energy launched SunPro in India to increase its direct and indirect sales network and eliminate inefficiencies in acquiring customers.

Within two years of SunPro, Freyr increased its sales network 10X. In addition to this, the cost of customer acquisition was less than 0.5% of the selling price of the solar power system.

We also realized that the platform could help other solar companies around the world.

SunPro+ is a customizable platform that comprises features that expedite the sales cycle, enable vendor management in multiple jurisdictions, provide financial options for end customers, deliver machine-learning based business analytics, and more. SunPro+ will be available in 10 countries from May 2019 and more countries will be added every month.
